Sentinel feature (Part 1)

The Weekly Sentinel doesn’t always have room for my entire feature and the photos, so I’ll try to post them here, too.   – Joyce

Reminder: For the second year in a row, Safe Haven is beneficiary of the Hayloft Restaurant’s Thursday donations. A portion of the proceeds of every meal served on March 24 and 31 will be donated. Please support Safe Haven by dining at the Hayloft, on Rt. 1 at the Wells/Ogunquit border. Thanks!

Meet a few of our “office kitties”

Simba

Simba and Stormy are both Persians, but their personalities are as different as day and night.

Simba (left), 11 years old, is comical, loud and affectionate. His face is remarkable. When I look up and see him peering at me, I burst out laughing. His eyes are so big and round and he has a kitten face framed by wild, wacky, white hair.

What a face! He looks like a Muppet.

Stormy

Stormy (right), age three, is quiet and reflective, and so beautiful she takes your breath away.

Star — a true survivor

Now and then, I sense legs scrambling up the back of my chair. Star vaults into my lap, belly up, purring, begging for affection and cuddling.

Star is a three-legged darling so full of joy and life – and gratitude for being rescued. She is a survivor who lost her hind leg to a car engine. She was sleeping under the hood, seeking warmth and safety.

Star

Star is an inspiration to us all, especially me. She’s taught me it’s totally possible to balance her on my shoulder and scratch behind her ears, while still doing my computer work one-handed.

All are available for adoption. Drop by the Safe Haven office and meet them.

More in our next post.

If you appreciate our No-Kill work, please consider making a small donation.

Thank you for supporting Safe Haven's No Kill rescue work

The kitties thank you!
