Patches and Missy

Patches and Missy

Patches, Missy and Mia

When not in command of my office chair, Patches and Missy cuddle comically together in their Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat bed, or as paperweights on my papers.

Mia likes to work on her circus act, which we call the “Poodle Dance.”

A medium-hair torti, Mia greets people by standing on her hind legs and waving her front paws at them.

This attention-getter always gets a jaw-opening gasp from newcomers, who can’t resist picking her up (which was her plan all along).

These three kitties came to us after an eviction left them homeless. We wish with all our hearts to keep Patches, Missy and Mia together in a new home. (Yours? Think about it!)

Marissa, Violet and Itty Bitty

Mother Marissa and daughter Violet and Itty Bitty are shy kitties who are gaining confidence. They might look like they’re not doing much, but they’re actually working hard at building confidence and trust.

Semi-feral kitties like them take a long time to get over their fear of humans. Each day they see other kitties getting petted and hugged, and they learn from that.

Maybe someday they, too, will do the Poodle Dance?

Turkey Ball Time for Mojo

Mojo is a very special fellow who came to us in a very poor health. He’s still thin, but is working hard at gaining weight.

This senior kitty has his own fan club. Two of his favorite friends, Rhonda and Sharon, roast him a turkey, mix the drippings and meat, and make turkey balls for Mojo to savor.

You should hear volunteer Donna rush up the stairs, yelling “Turkey Ball Time!”

As she opens the door, Mia performs her Poodle Dance. Simba opens his large mouth and bellows a loud and hysterical “Yowl.” Other furry faces peer out from bookshelves and wastebaskets — and we just burst out laughing.

It’s just another day at the Safe Haven Adoption Center. Please come visit them and us, and see how we treasure life.

PS: Yes, they’re all available for adoption!

If you appreciate our No-Kill work, please consider making a small donation.

Thank you for supporting Safe Haven's No Kill rescue work

The kitties thank you!
