A video is making the Internet rounds, showing a gray-haired woman gently petting a cat. She occasionally glances furtively at a garbage bin. Then she casually lifts it by the scruff, tosses it in, closes the lid and quickly walks away.
Not surprisingly, Britons are upset. Watch their reaction.

Update: The woman, Mary Bale, is unapologetic. ““I don’t know what the fuss is about, it’s just a cat,” she tells The Sun. “I did it as a joke because I thought it would be funny.” After the video of the incident went viral online, people loudly denounced Bale. Someone even started a Facebook group “Death to Mary Bale.” She’s now under police protection.
The scorn got so loud, and the threats so real, that NOW she says she’s “profoundly sorry.” (Sorry she got caught, I suspect.)
