Here’s a recent feature in the Weekly Sentinel

Once again, Safe Haven’s generous and compassionate supporters have pulled together to make possible the surgeries Bubby needed on each of his ears.

The poor guy has endured so much, and the $12,000 we needed to pay for the operations donated by all of our friends and supporters. They (and we) wanted nothing more than to have Bubby enjoy a pain-free life.

Bubby is now fully recovered and is ready for adoption!

This 4 year old orange short-haired beauty has very distinctive ears that make him even more adorable. Those ears were the root of all his pain,  but now he is a happy and comfortable kitty who looks forward to a long and fun life.

His backstory: Bubby just couldn’t relax around the dogs in his foster home. Everyone tried to make it work, because they really wanted Bubby to become  part of their family. But Bubby just wouldn’t have it.

He made it clear he would prefer a home where he would be the only furry member.

Bubby’s ideal home would be one with plenty of space to roam and run and play. His meow is pretty meow because he’s hearing impaired which he’ll use to call for you to come and play with him.

He loves to exercise, play with his catnip and “cat dancer” toy and watch the birdies outside. He’ll take as many laps as possible to sit in and cuddle with.

This darling cuddlebug really craves companionship, so the more you’re home the happier he’ll be. Please call 207-646-1611 for more info. Apply to adopt www.safehavenhumanesociety.org.

Safe Haven has many adoptable kitties. You can now view them in person! No appointment necessary. Visit our shelter at 1420 Post Road, Wells, next to the Wells Public Library, between 11am and 1:30pm weekdays, and weekends by appointment. FMI 207-646-1611.

As our shop continues to grow, we’re currently enlisting several more volunteers to price donations. Volunteers will be taught how to research and price items and mark them to be ready for display in our shop. You’ll work with another volunteer, for 3 hours once a week. Please text 207-229-8314. Thank you.

Speaking of shopping, you could buy us something from our Amazon Wish List. Thanks so much for all your support!

Donations of cat food, litter and cleaning supplies are always needed and very welcome. Bring them in during business hours any day of the week.

It’s never too late to provide shelter for any outdoor cats you see in your yard. Please don’t turn your back on them. Maine winters show no mercy to cats and kittens outside. If you know someone who is overwhelmed with cats or may be neglecting their pets, please don’t ignore that. You are that animal’s life link. Every life matters. Thank you.
