Max loves love

Max the love sponge

Max is a fashionable kitty. He wears the latest in designer furs. Here he comes now, strutting his stuff down the Safe Haven CatWalk. Modeling a black and white tuxedo — the latest in formal attire —  Max is wearing a black velvety coat with white fur collar, darling sporty white bobby socks on front paws and thigh-high white fur boots on his back paws. For extra pizzazz, he wears a white belly cummerbund. To top off this stunning designer look, Max is decked out with long whiskers and white ear tufts that make a dashing fashion statement as they curl out of his black velvet ears. Whoever did his hair did a magnificent job.

This 1-1/2 year old fashion plate has great luck. Left behind as “disposable” goods, Max was the only kitty in the household who survived this abandonment. Escaping the property he hid out in a garage, eating whatever he could find until some kindhearted soul took him in. (We LOVE KindHearts!) Then Safe Haven was called for help, and we came running.

Max is a sponge for love. Belly rubs never last long enough for him. He loves play time with his ball which he retrieves happily. Max also likes to play “Newspaper Ghost.” He scoots under a newspaper lying on the floor and lies there with the paper over him like a tent. When the whim strikes him, he tears thru the house with the newspaper on top of him as his foster mom claps her hands and tells him how brilliant and fun he is. It’s a great game! It usually ends with belly rubs and chicken-flavored treats.

Max sings cat tunes all day and night. He purrs all the time! He is healthy and happy now — okay, he’s spoiled in foster care. That is what we want. And now we want him to be spoiled in his forever home too. If you’d enjoy playing games like Newspaper Ghost and Fetch with a cat wearing a tuxedo, and want your feet warmed up by a loving “sponge cat” sleeping at the foot of your bed at night, call Safe Haven and we will introduce you to Max.

One thing, though. Max tested positive for FIV, the feline AIDS virus. FIV is NOT transmittable to dogs or people — only other cats. I personally have had a cat that is FIV+ for years -- and he’s as healthy as can be. He’s the best cat in the world. (Please do not tell this to my other cats.) Fear Not the FIV! Max will be a great family member.

If you want to foster him first we can arrange that. We know what will happen though…you will totally fall in love with him as have we.
