Mittens from Kittens
It’s amazing what one person can do! No, make that one special person and her two remarkable kitties! This supporter — who wishes remain anonymous and credit her kitties — is a remarkable person. She combines her sewing skills with her love for animals to make a huge difference in the lives of so many Safe Haven kitties.

This anonymous donor adopted her cats, Bella and Barney, from Safe Haven, and insists they are the heroes in this fundraiser. All year long, their mom collects wool and fleece garments, then cuts and sews the material into artfully designed, beautifully crafted mittens. Each toasty warm pair is fleece lined, Many are trimmed on the cuff with a unique or vintage button.
Each fall Bella and Barney sell the mittens at local craft shows, then donate all the proceeds to Safe Haven to help pay our vet bills. The public has been very responsive to the Kittens for Mittens campaign, and to the craftsmanship.
Sales have been remarkable. This year Bella and Barney’s mom delivered a beautifully decorated gift to Safe Haven, and inside it was an oversize check for $2,500. Her generous annual donation has paid for the medical needs of so many Safe Haven kitties. Thanks, Bella and Barney — and to your wonderful, modest mom!
